Our Solution

Marks and Spencer wanted to follow UK legislation as best practice; following all relevant UK legislation such as CDM Regulations and Welfare Regulations. Where an international law conflicted with British law however, the local legislature would take precedence. Callidus were required to provide a summary of relevant Polish Health and Safety Legislation which included strict Labour Laws. We then carried out an in depth study on the history of asbestos use in Poland, which revealed the 1997 ban on use of Asbestos. The Złote Tarasy store was constructed in 2005.

Guidance was provided to the contractor on how the Scoping Document would be produced in the absence of Callidus attending site. This was then transferred into a detailed Pre-Construction Information document; this document incorporated a high level Hazard Elimination and Management Plan (HEML) and also included information provided in the Designer’s risk assessments. A thorough review of the Contractor’s Construction Phase Plan was completed prior to any work starting on site which included reviewing· Risk Assessments and Method Statements, Fire, and Traffic Plans.
